But it could also be a fouled plug.

You want to check to see if it's sparking.

Welcome to the forum! Nice to see the bike over there! A wealth of knowledge on this forum so between us all we should be able to help with any issues that arise.

WD40 sprayed around the inlet whilst running should help track down the air leak. If it's been sat for a while then could be the crank seal on the generator side.

Check those sus linkage parts and make sure you grease them up. A big point of failiure for our yearly inspections over here.

Welcome to the forum mate, I've only had my DT a few months but been on here since before I bought it, a great bunch of people on here and you'll find that no topic ever goes unanswered, which I've found is quite rare on other forums 😛
And speaking of having bikes in the house.. When I got my first ped at 16 I insisted it sat in my bedroom until I did my cbt, and sat in my bedroom it did.
And the ped I got when I was 12 did also. What tolerant parents I have 😂

Haha my parents didn't mind me having my bike in the house, first night I got the DT it was in the kitchen and that's where I kept it til the insurance kicked in.
Once the frame is powder coated and I've got the engine cleaned up, new clutch kit fitted and got the monkey-metal Yamaha screws changed for stainless capheads I'll be building it up in the bedroom at my folks house. Ideal as plenty room to work on it. List of things I know off the top of my head I need to buy yet are a new inlet manifold, new reeds and some hoses, stainless fasteners, bearings and stuff so I'll use time between doing stuff to buy stuff.
I do remember though the things that annoyed me were the headlamp is pants. Will change that for a 35w hid as they are available now for them. Will change the clocks illumination to led as well as the indicators and the tail lamp. Draw less power so shouldn't get the dull lights on idle like they usually do.

My derbi one had a different plug to my TDR so it is possible it will need changing.. But it's very little work either way.

Yh but 19 years is a bit excessive to stay on L plates haha

@Calum Maybe 40 posts and 20 rep might be a more secure way to combat the scammers???

@Calum I know the owner of DEP from years ago when we used to race mx, and then when I was deciding what to do in Japan that was a good choice as I got backinto MX here.

That's exactly what i was thinking tbh. Problem is the only panels i have got is the front mudguard 😕 so can't really repair any

It's a good commuting motor to have to be fair. I commuted on mine fore years. Solid bikes.

It will always be cheaper to spend the money and get something in crisp condition. Else you will be chasing no end of problems grabbong taxis to work and having to fix the bike.

Spend the money and get something in decent condition. There isn't a log that can go wrong provided the maintenance is kept up with.

@MIGHTYMAN You can happily shift all day long without the clutch on the DT and crossers. You only use the clutch at the start, then most corners to keep the revs. Shifting isn't necessarily what you use the clutch for in MX.

I ran the DT for months without a clutch cable. Doesn't harm the box.

@Dt-r_Bradders Sound man! yeh check out @chalkey46's YZ build. Got me wanting a 2001' on rear end instead, love a bit of extra alloy

There used to be a chap called deeteemx. If he didn't have your part then no one. I don't think he transitioned over to this site though.
