3et263011200 is the part number for 1988-96 which is what I suspect you have. The oil pumps changed in 96.<br />
Genuine Yamaha parts supplier, even if you only use it to acquire the part number to put into eBay.<br />

There are different oil pumps on the later bikes. I think the ‘rotor’ is situated on the side ( not the top) and is much larger. You might have a cable for one of those...</p>

You can route the cable the wrong way through the bars headstock/chassis. You have got the right cable for the right year and model haven’t you ?</p>
