On tick over you with lights on you would be lucky to get more than 12.5v, and 11.5v sounds about right. But in the real world we don’t ride on tick over. Measure the charge voltage @3.5k and you should be looking at 13.8 to 14.5 volts. As a rule of thumb 50w @12vdc is about 4 amps current draw. And the last time I checked DT has a 3amp battery, and I would always knock 25% off the battery so you could be looking at a battery with 2.25 amps. Which is not a lot if you want to play with stuff on the bike.

I’m my experience idle voltage can be a bit lower than at say, 2500rpm, but I have an early (1988) stator setup with 3 separate coils, 1 each for lights, ignition and charging. AmpH/wattage is another thing, I think...
