Moral of the story from this I can see is

More horse power = power maintenance worm with pustion changes probably more regularly

Keeping the dep exhaust carbon reeds and sprocket changes seems like the best for performance with out risking blowing pistons more frequently

I did see a video on YouTube on how to make two stroked more powerful but with this there was a risk of blowing the engine maybe if you want a fast bike just get a bigger one?

I wanted a yz road legal but for daily use I can imagine these get warm and aren't really good for road bikes sure for the track for a couple hours it's all good

The dtr is a true work horse in my opinion

Thanks you for a reply so early pal I'm hoping maybe it could be a pressure problem if that could even be the case? I've never had a issue with the engine getting to hot as always going over 25mph I'll pop the top of radiator off and see where it goes from there would I notice any pressure when I take it off my self like would I hear anything?

Good morning went off road first time ever and my engine gets to hot when not going over 25mph the water pipe that goes to the radiator from the engine feels warm but the radiator it's self could be cold currently working today but got 3 days off just wondering what people could suggest to check could it just be trapped air? Is the water pump just under the 2 stroke injector are they easy to replace as I have 3 spare engines so should be able to just take from there thanks guys.

  • Exhaust bolt snapped
    K kieran hutchison

Good morning pal thank you so much the thread on the engine was fine brought a tap and die set and fixed the bolt and it's back o there was In full panic mode how would I go about bolting it on to the engine as at the moment I have one bolt on it and I use that through the exhaust to the engine to bolt it on but the other one you just undo the nut and the bolt stays in the engine how ever the other one the Bolt comes out of the engine sorry if it does not make sense my English is not the best

Good afternoon guys hope your all well
,I'm not very good with bikes but yesterday I was checking my piston through the exhaust port to see how good condition it's in and the threaded bolt that comes of the engine came off I tried to screw it back in and it wouldn't go in I'm guessing the thread is ruined

Are these meant to come off as I have another cylinder head and it looks like they are welded on and you just bolt on the exhaust I hope I explained this well enough I managed to use a bigger bolt and get the exhaust on just not the best fit but will be doing a full top end rebuild anyways

My question is where the exhaust goes on are the threads welded on to the cylinder head or screwed in as mine was like a 2 way thread one in to the engine and then one for the exhaust to go over then bolted on.

    Cheers guys
