Turns out it's about the only bearing that simplybearings don't stock. In fact no-one seems to stock it apart from genuine parts retailers.
Bearing code is tr152512
Yeah I suppose so, especially after seeing the post on gearbox bearings (quarter of the price of what I can find in France - and that includes postage from UK).
Disappointed that I overlooked these when ordering, but it would annoy me more if I didn't do it right after it has sat in bits for 7 months plus!
Cheers for all your support mate, will hopefully get them ordered up soon.
Well I finally got myself organised and have everything ready for the rebuild 7 months later! :-S
Crank has been rebuilt (not by me!), barrel/head skimmed, powervalve cleaned, got full seal kit and full Athena gasket kit ready to go... Now I just need to remember where everything goes. :-))
@Calum Yeah I measured it then looked up simplybearings and got nowhere. Went through all other close sizes incase it was my error but no joy.
After that I googled it and it only seems to be available as a genuine part (it's the one pjme sell for £28ish).
The size is also used by ktm and probably others too, so I'm not giving up yet - just more awkward being in France!
Hello my learned compadres!
Have finally removed the 2 remaining needle bearings from my crankcase, but only one of them is stamped with the code...
Clutch lifter shaft - HK 1412
Does anyone know what the code is for the input shaft (primary?) needle bearing?
Yeah a blind bearing set would be cool, but a decent one is big bucks - and it's not an everyday job for me! Cheap tools are great if they work but will probably get someone to do it rather than take the risk.
I even tried a rawl anchor on a diy sliding hammer and this just broke one of the collet parts off the bolt rather than move the bearing - this thing is stuck solid!
Bloody thing is driving me potty!!!
So I tried again and no joy, then left it in almost an hour and the only thing that happened was I melted stuff unexpectedly... Guess i will have to take it somewhere to get it removed.
Meanwhile, does anyone know what this and the other needle rollers are so I can get them ordered from simplybearings?
Tonight I heated up the crankcase halves to remove the bearings, and got all out apart from the 2 in the picture.
How do I go about getting these out, as they are only accessible from one side?
ps. sorry about the date on pic lol,
