Exhaust Studs
-
Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me the standard size of the exhaust studs to fit an 05 DT125.
Ive just had to purchase a new dep expansion chamber after a huge crack/hole appeared in my old one . Only to find on removal a previous owner has well and truly bodged the fixings. Theres one M8 allen head in one side and the other is an M10 allen head with locking nut which is too big to even fit through the exhaust flange unless i drill it. The M8 one by the looks of it is in a Helicoiled thread. Im hoping the stardard studs size is M8 and im hoping its possible to fit a Helicoil in the M10 hole to bring that also to an M8 to fit standard studs?
Hopefuly somebody can let me know if it is possible.
Thankyou all in advance

You'll need that welding and then tapping as I think a 10mm hole would be too large for an 8mm helicoil to fit into securely.
If you remove the cylinder a local engineering place should be able to tig it up for you reasonably cheaply

You can also get studs in 2 sizes. I.e M10 at one end and m8 at the other. Might be worth having a look at those
