Dt125r engine in an dt125lc
-
Hi, i have an 2003 Yamaha dt125r. I’ve been thinking about buying an dt125lc and swapping my engine into the lc, and was wondering if anyone would know if the mounts is the same, or if I have to weld and destroy the frame. And if anyone know of a bike that my engine would just slide into without any necessary modifications, like welding.

@dtdriver keep the LC engine! Much better than the DTR engine.
Go and have a look at the porting on an LC engine.

Terrible images but you get the point.
@Calum i haven’t tried the lc before so I’m unsure of how well the engine performs, but I have spent a long time building and tuning the engine. Making it a lot stronger and faster then the original, but I love the design on the lc a lot more, but I don’t want to destroy the frame. So that’s why I’m wandering if anyone have tried it before and know if it will fit right in or if I have to make many adjustments to the bike.
