Dt200r oil pump
-
I am thinking of getting the Athena 170 kit but as I understand it Athena recommend disconnecting the oil pump and premixing which I have always found to be a pain in the ass so I was wondering if anyone has ever fitted a dt200r oil pump is it even possible or are there to many differences I would appreciate anyones thoughts on the idea

@old-boy-racer Theoretically I guess you could. Might be an idea to get hold of one and strip it, strip your 125 one and compare the differences (it's worth rebuilding anyway and the Yambits rebuild kit is very good). The internal gear ratio could be different or there might be a different spec for maximum/minimum stroke.
Might also be an idea to take a look at those double row radiators from China; the real limitation of the DT125R is cooling as it runs a single rad vs. the twin rads on the DT200R. OK on the road most of the time but any serious off-road riding like steep climbs etc the temp goes up pretty quick. Near where I live there's a byway which starts at the bottom of a steep hill with all these speed bumps the farmer has installed to try and limit soil erosion (ahem) and my temp gauge goes over 2/3 up there. I know someone who has bought one and apparently they fit quite well and make it run a bit cooler:

Don’t forget that the oil pump is calibrated to the carb. It’s the right amount of oil for the air-petrol mix going in. If you put a much bigger carb on I would start thinking about the oil pump…
Do you get what I’m saying? The pump is running at 50:1 why would premixing at 50:1 be any different? Think about it …PS what carb does the Dtr 200 run? Cause the pump is calibrated to the carb, not the cylinder…
