@Calum I hope you can find some time for that. It must indeed ride great with all those mods :+1:

@HOTSHOT-III Thanks!! I tried this and it worked for one of the carbs. I guess the other one just needs some more time. After soaking them in alloy wheel cleaner, the carb cleaner helped to push out the debris (and some tiny maggots :joy: )

@kepirok Probably lost to time now due to Photobucket and Imgur. But everything is documented on my build thread and I made a YouTube video of the build, so you can piece the two together there.

I see tons of works, creativity and precision. Great job. Do you still take it for a ride sometimes these days? @calum

Regarding my original question on the carbs, I was able to source a second one and I can use the best bits of the two. Only thing is that both has the "power jet" super clogged in the bowl. Carb cleaner and ultrasonic cleaner both unsuccessful so far. Wires, tiny drills are the way to go or just more patience? I don't want to oversize the pipe

Oh awesome! Congrats on the bike. I've had mine now 16 odd years now!

Some great advice here, but I'll just chime in with some alternative idea for food for thought, but it doesn't negate the great advice we have here.

Many years ago, I went down the TZR Belgarda route, which effectively ran a DT125RE engine, just modified porting. As a result, I ended up using the carb from that bike, which was a Dellorto VHSA 32mm carb. These are probably easier to find as they're used heavily in the scooter community.

I've never had problems with that setup, but I am not convinced that the bike is that rapid (despite all the mods I've done), but maybe I just got used to it.

@calum is there more info somewhere regarding your setup? I am very curious regarding your experience of the TZR Belgrada "route" :-)

Thank you so much for these recommendations it is greatly appreciated!!

The stock carb has some parts missing, coolant lines clogged, rusted and the slider is very worn etc. When looking at prices to replace the missing and bad looking stuff, it costs $$$. I took it apart now and started cleaning it, I found someone nearby who is selling parts of his DT125R and has a carb will meet him later this week. If I can't find a decent stock carb, I will look for the Dellorto.

The current chinese PWK in it I wouldn't risk running as the build quality is the worst I have ever seen. It's not just visually not appealing, the materials are so poor even the jets snapped during cleaning, housing is missing a piece on top etc. So beware this junk guys! Brand is most probably "Motoforce" based on similar listings.

The exhaust should be this one: https://www.athena.eu/en-gb/lightweight-racing-complete-exhaust-kit-P20782.htm

And the ignition is from a French manufacturer, Devmoto. They set a DT125R mapping by default on the ignition. This ignition doesn't control the power valve servo by default, if I am correct the Zeeltronic unit has this feature. Devmoto states on the website that it's possible to connect the two if you send the servo and the iginition unit to them as some modifications are required on the servo for this.
Do you think it could be worth it?

    Hi Guys!

New owner here, after acquiring my childhood dream bike, I would like to ask for your advice regarding carbs.

My 2002 DT125R has a slighlty ported stock cylinder, a chinese PWK 28, Athena pipes and a mapped ignition system. The bike pulls nicely, however I am very unhappy with the chinese PWK's build quality, it's one fo the REALLY bad ones.
The stock carb I received in a box with the bike in very bad condition, it looks like it's beyond repair :-(

Which carb you would buy for this setup?

Thank you in advance for sharing your thoughts.
