White

Or maybe Yamaha did an Off White. @scrimsmustang would know if they did do a variation on whites.

There are atleast 3 different shades of White Plastics on DTR,s 88 89 and 90 are a creamy white,91 on are bright white. Then the rear White panels on 96 to 99 have a hint of purple. Age can slightly Yellow the nos 88 type plastics you find sometimes.

I would say I have 91 plastics, bright White and the odd one is as you say, a creamy white, live and learn eh! Originals on the 89 were a creamy white also, have to consider my options I think. Meantime are you interested in spraying my tanks? One red and one white? Reason I ask is you share my enthusiasm for a proper job. Assume you do paintwork yourself?
-
Yes I do, closest I can find for the creamy white is ford diamond, closest for the bright is ford frozen. Would have to get a match for the red, its impossible to get paintcodes for old bikes. If I ask for Yamaha Raspberry Red they will just laugh at me lol. Black or the metallic blue I have the codes.

Would be the bright white, that tank has crazed paint on it but better overall than the tank that came with the 89 which I think may be sprayed with enamel, and is it worth going to a spray shop to try and find a match for the red? Also can you recommend carrier? Probably white one first as suits you

Thats what I would do for a match, I have a new Red tank still in the box I can try for a match.
The 88 89 90 plastics are Ur White, 91 to 97 plastics are Deep Purplish White Solid
