04 pipe on a 02 bike

Been doing some research (mainly on ebay) and it looks like I have a RE 2004 on DEP expansion chamber on my 2002 R, will this make any difference to how the bike runs?

I doubt it will make any difference. There's a few slight differences between models but the main reason the pipes are different is the later bikes have a different tank and air scoops that foul the earlier exhausts.
