Zeeltronic

@TadeuPT Bang for buck, the Zeeltronic ignition system made the biggest difference to all round performance for my DTRE/X. If you intend to alter curve parameters, powervalve timings and/or have a modified or want to modify the bike in the future, I'd say go for it!

@TadeuPT I bought one for my '93 directly from Zeeltronic and was impressed.
They ask you to send pictures of your CDI connectors so they can build you a unit which plugs straight into your bike, and are very helpful with initial setup, advice etc. After a bit of head scratching I was able to install mine including the map switch without making any changes to my wiring loom at all; a great feature meaning you can reinstall the stock CDI any time you need to. If your bike has a 3-wire servo (most early bikes do) you can stick with this but they do advise running a 5-wire servo as this means you can alter the YPVS curve as well as the ignition advance curve for even more tunability (and 5-wire servos are cheaper and easier to find than 3-wire versions). I tried both setups on mine as well as the map switch with no issues.
Get a professional bullet connector set like this one so you can make a tidy job of installing any extra connectors on the CDI wires for these items. I found it easiest to put bullets on the 5-wire servo as well: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403085023536?var=673237576876
Wiring diagrams and user manuals are on the website; if you order one, download and start reading them sooner rather than later! The Tuning Works are the UK Zeeltronic importer, I tried to buy from them initially but they told me they no longer sell DTR units as the wiring was changed so much over the years. Best to go direct anyway IMO, mine arrived in about 3 weeks. Get the program box and extension lead as well; avoids removing the fuel tank all the time to change settings.

@HOTSHOT-III thanks, I already emailed them, they say I can easily convert it to a 5 wire, was only asking because all the people here talking about a zeeltronic had a newer dtr than mine with a worse cdi, but if zeeltronic is better I will order one.
