Generator and ECU help
-
The previous owner or my 02 DT125R rewired everything with single colour wiring which has included opening up the ECU, Clocks and Generator and soldering in new wires!@!
So the initial question is there anywhere I can get this undone?
Part two, apart from eBay is there anywhere to get replacement parts?
Final part, where's the bect place to purchase new ones?
Cheers

I totally didn't do that when wiring my country home...
Um, I'm probably with Calum on this with just getting a new loom unless you're feeling up to the task to redoing the whole wiring loom. Wiring is one of the simplest things to do, as long as you follow the diagrams and the book you can't get it wrong. Question is if you're willing to put the time into it yourself.

Hi have a new loom, it's just the parts that connect in to it. To further frustrate matters the ECU isn't available from Yamaha any more

@Bluestoesonnose No but aftermarket CDI's and/or used CDI's are available.

@Bluestoesonnose You have a new loom, so that's the wiring problem sorted. New original CDI's are very rare these days;
https://www.fowlersparts.co.uk/parts/4171974/dt125r-3rmm-2002-050-b/electrical-2
So your only other option is the second hand/used market, there are some on ebay and you will probably find someone on here with a spare one. Or aftermarket/replacement unit's are also available
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=dtr+cdi&_sacat=0
Or there are several groups on Facebook, where you will find one for sale. There are some differences between CDI's on different models over the years, other's will confirm which model/year is the best one to go for. Also this dude breaks DT's so will most likely have one;
Now here's the thing, if I were in your shoe's I would not buy a used CDI, because you never know 100% if it is performing at it's peak. OK granted there's not a lot to go wrong with these unit's and the chances of you getting a good one is quite high. However for around the cost on a brand new original CDI, you could have a much superior re-programmable unit, such as a Zeeltronic. This unit will remove all of the factory restrictions as well as giving you a custom map to play with. If you plan on doing any other mods to gain more power out of your bike, this is by far and large the best bang_for_your_buck upgrade to do. @Calum and several others on here will confirm that just by swapping to the Zeeltronic your bike will be instantly transformed. See here for more details;

Many thanks, I have found a company who can rewire it, I'm just waiting for a ball park cost.
