Diferent autolube covers

Why are there 2 diferent covers for the autolube Pump on the DT 125 R?

The engines with an electric start have a different pump and cover, it seems. I thought it was just later models, but my 1994 Tzr has the same cover as the Dtre, Dtx…

@SpookDog I don't know about Electric Starters vs Kick Starters, both my brothers 2001 DTR and my 2005 DTRE had the same pump and cover

@Calum Yes, i have a Kick start DTR with 4bl engine and I have 1 cover my friend has other 4bl engine just with diferent cover

My bad. Just trying to find reason where there apparently is none …

Or is it all 4 designated (HW, DL, BL, ect) models that have the sideways oil pump & bigger cover?…
Must be a reason other than availability, when it covers so many different year models…

@SpookDog @Calum 's theory sounds acurate, 2 diferent Pump types, but the engine might be a little diferent i think 1 type has 3 bolts and the other 4 for the cover

@Hybrid_Theory01 the early ones up to 1998 had the 'shell' like cover. 98 on was the flat cover due to having a different oil pump. For this reason there is 2 different throttle cables available.
