Check it out, this company in France will sell you a new complete GPX TSE250R engine ready to bolt in. Same crankcases as a DT125R but 250cc (basically a 230 Lanza engine built under licence), includes electric starter, stator and pipework for twin rads. The GPX is currently going down a storm in the Enduro world as it's half the price of a new KTM/Husky and in the cold light of day, just as competitive for most of the people most of the time. Would love to see someone put one of these in a DTR!
Lots of other good stuff on here like adapters to run a Top Racing crankshaft in a DTRe, 3D printed carb-to-airbox rubbers etc.

For you guys in the UK: https://www.gpxmotouk.com/shop-gpx.html
They have the parts to convert the DTR to 230cc, can probably get the complete engine too. If I was thinking of a engine rebuild and/or Athena 170, I would go for this instead, based on what I learned from the Athena 170 kit.
