Hello i am quite new to bikes ive owned quads before and 2 weeks ago got my first bike (2006 yamaha dtx 125) i test drove it at the sellers house and everything was fine but after i got home it would no longer start and only has spark when the power is turned off from the ignition so if anyone could give me some tips i would be grateful

    Everything ive tried:
    Check and clean grounds
    Bypass the ignition switch
    Get a new ignition switch
    Removing the kill switch
    Bypassing the kickstand safety switch
    Replacing electric connectors

Do a continuity test on the wiring loom first see if any bad wires
I had exactly the same problem and did what you have done
mine turned out to be a bad CDI
