Broken mixture screw

Any tip on removing a busted mixture screw as mine feels seized and the head of the screw is chewed up to the point no flat head will fit I've heard of using a screw extracter but was wondering what you guys think ?

Yeah this is quite common.

I'm not sure how best to get it out.

Probably apply lots of heat.
