There open at idle up to 2000rpm, then closes and starts re-opening at about 7500rpm. There's a hi and low mark on the power valve pulley you line up, but I've found like with dt your best checking up the exhaust port, to check there fully open. Some cdi and power valve controllers are restricted though.

wrote on 27 Apr 2018, 07:19 last edited by@dtr-nsr from what I could see through the exhaust port, the pv didn't seem to be able to be perfectly aligned with the port at all.

KTM EXC's Yamaha YZ's and Kawasakis KIPS run off the gearbox.
So the valve could have been actuated by any of those.

Now a Honda RS 125 I definitely would love to hand. Shame I don't have 10K lying about the place.
They run their powervalve off the gearbox I believe.
