Dtr 125 rear shock

Is there any upgrade for the dtr 125 rear shock like do any fit off the yz 125 or any other bikes

The shock does need replacing so I all ways look for an upgrade befor putting another stock one on

@ryanjimccfc I mean the standard DT shock is pretty good in my opinion, unless you're doing a lot of bumpy green-laning then I wouldn't really look into replacing it.

That's about as upgradable as you can go.
If you don't want to faff around.
I bought one of these for my RS. Nice shock, but don't expect it to compare to an external reservoir one.

Okay mate I have seen a dtr with a shock with a external reservoir on it not sure what the shock was off tho

@ryanjimccfc Probably have, I've seen DT's with YZ Swing Arms, Yamaha R125 Wheels, KTM Forks and YZ shocks, but all required custom fabrication. Anything is possible if you're willing to put the work in.

I believe that its of a similar length to the 125's? I have seen a DT125R frame with the 200's rear shock fitted, however I am not sure if any modifications were required to make it all fit though and you may need the DT200R's swing arm as well for it all to work? The 200's swing arm will fit with some custom spacers required and I think it's an aluminium unit as well, so it would be a great upgrade over the 125's steel swinger. Plus the rear shock is adjustable for pre-load and compression, whereas the 125's is a fixed unit. I would imagine that a complete DT200 rear set-up, shock, swing arm, linkage and dog bones etc would all work with not too much hassle. with some small amount of custom spacers required and would be a worthy upgrade for-sure.

@ryanjimccfc The shocks for all 3 bikes are 410mm in length and the YSS item is listed as being compatible for all 3 bikes, which means it should be a straight swap for the OEM unit. The YSS unit's also offer adjustable pre-load and compression too, just the same as the DT200/Lanza's units just without the external reservoir, so you are getting pretty much the same spec as a used 200 unit all in one package. Plus I think the YSS has a stiffer spring over the original shock? So all_in_all it's a simpler upgrade with less hassle of fitting and mounting the res. If you have the cash then I would go for a new and improved shock over an old used unit everytime.
