I keep doing bits and researching bit and pieces but more and more work mounts ups hard to find the time sometimes , would like to get the swing arm done soon need the bearings for the suspension leg ordering and upgrade the rear shock for a YSS shock as a nice upgrade as the suspension really lacks front and back on the dts (I have nice trick up my sleeve for the front suspension), should have a nice base for the bike then and I can sit on a stand before it’s too heavy for lift off the table
the Latest work I’ve done is take the tank back to bare metal quite lucky with my tank seems a real good one like not dented up and clean inside

£500 for get my hubs drilled into brand spanking gold alloy 21 inch and 18 Inch rims with stainless spikes built and balanced not too shabby I don’t think

Work in progress - side to side shot of how the loom is now and what it’s going to be like when it’s redone, crap weather has wrote off my plans to spray the swing arm after spending hours on prep this weekend too cold now
On the left is how the loom is now with crap sticky electrical tape and on the right is the work in progress loom fabric I’m doing

As part of the build I wanted to upgrade the spongy outdated suspension the dt125r has, one option I Did ponder was swapping the shock spring from the XT600 onto the DT shock but I decided the best upgrade in my opinion would be the YSS Shock, really looking forward to getting this on now I’ve seen it looks real sexy and got some nice adjustment options on it.
Gotta get this swing arm done!

@mhbikesnbits Very smart, I got a YSS on my RS and I'm happy with it. But I probably ought to consider an upgrade on the DTRE. It's always been good enough for my uses however, plus I have larger dog bones fitted so height wise it's spot on for me.

Little update some minor changes, originally decided a Matt finish for engine hangers went with a gloss finish think it’s a improvement.
Installed some electrics
Still perfecting the swing arm put lots of work into it getting it to a perfect standard
Had a little play making it look more like a bike

Took one for the team and purchased the expensive seal and bearing kit from eBay for the suspension knuckle.
hopefully be able put together all the sizes for the forum so you can source it individually.
Plenty of grease used inside.
I used the method of threaded rod for install.
Decided to install the shock to the frame also looking great on the bike I must say
On a side note smart phone camera are great but sometimes pictures don’t speak a thousand words looks way better in person.
Looking forward to getting some professional pictures done when complete

Opinions, are stainless steel zip ties overdoing it for the loom ?
-
@mhbikesnbits Reusuable? Sounds like they're better for the planet.
Dude that YSS shock is lovely! I might have to sort myself out with one of those.
