Dt125x carb replacement

Hi guys,
I ruined my carb on my Dt125x 05. The air mixture screw was seized and try’d using an easy out.
It did not easy out and I made a right cock up of it.
I’m looking at replacing the carb but the original was a MIKUNI running a 240 main jet. The carb did not have a model number on it.
I’m looking at the mikuni VM28-418 (TM28) will this fit a Dt125x???
Any recommendations on replacement carbs will be much appreciated. I was also looking at Nibb racing carbs ?

It's funny you should do this.. I have done the exactly the same to the word, to my carb, doing a restoration at the moment don't know what road to go down put it to the side for now even thinking about 1 of those Chinese ones, whatever i do will need to be a cheap option, the bike starting to cost a fortune. what did you do about your carb dilemma? -

Plenty of “Pattern Parts” as we used to say available made in china on eBay and the likes, for £20-30 I don’t think you can go wrong. I’ve just bought a 30 and 32mm PWK copies to try on my TDR, I’ve only tested the 30mm so far and can’t tell the difference between that and standard but that’s only warming the bike up in the garage. Need to take it for a run but the roads are shite. Ideally I’d like to run them on a Dyno but again I’ve not got one of them to hand. I spoke to Mick Abbey before Christmas on what size carb to run with a 170 Athena top end, and he said just buy a one of these carbs as you can’t go wrong, as you’d spend more on Jets when you can just swap the carb if it’s not working.
If you want original look on eBay and pay through the nose for someone else’s 30 year old tat and find yourself in the same position come set up. Look up ZSDTRP Carbs I know people knock the Chinese but they are a legit business and they are in the market to make stuff work not just for show. -

I don’t mean to be confrontational, but I wouldn’t touch a Chinese copy carb with Donald Trumps dick! Pay the price for a Dellorto or get a second hand mikuni with the correct angle. I personally don’t know anything about dtx’s. I thought they had 30mm carbs as standard. 99% of fleabay carbs are overpriced, but If you’re willing to wait something usually turns up, in my experience anyways…

I would suck his dick to see this bike finnished ..LOL.Am still drawn to trying out 1 of thoes PWK 28M. 25 quid what can go wrong... am at the point just want the bike done ive done a few restorations but this 1 is taken the piss... I mean everything i do either brakes. snaps. sheers or needs replace it sat old side for 2-year need I say more.

I wouldn't touch those Chinese carbs with a barge pole.
Fueling is the most critical part of your engines health, get that wrong and it'll just ruin performance and damage the engine internals.
My brothers RD had two Chinese carbs on and we took it for a Dyno run, the geezer pulled the bike from the run and then refused to work on it until he got some genuine ones.
He measure the internals of the carbs and although they were the same carb, they measured differently inside. Despite being 32mm they measured ~30.
The float height was completely messed up and ultimately the RD detonated and destroyed the engine.
TL;DR buy quality fueling parts.
The way I source carbs in this current market, find a bike that that carb was fitted to and then eBay search for that.
The carburettor used on the KTM EXC125 was a VHST. These go for around £150 usually, yet the same carb was found on the last versions of the RS and I've picked up two for £30 each! And both were in really good condition!

Even if you have fucked up removing the air screw there are places out there that will drill out and rethread your original carb body for under £50. It depends what damage you’ve done to the threads. The brass screw can be removed even if you’ve destroyed the flathead screwdriver slot…
It’s all comparative…I had a slot that stripped, I just drilled it 3mm deep with a 3mm drill bit and tapped a sharp cross head screwdriver into it. Heated it with a gas torch and it came out easy…
