    Happy Birthday!

Well would you believe it, this forum is one year old today 31/05/2015 we went live with NodeBB.

It's great to see the projects on here. Lots of inspiration to others I am sure.

I would personally like to say a big thank you to everyone who has contributed to the forum over the last 12 months.

No this isn't the busiest forum in the world, it never was and it never will be.

But we have a really great bunch of users!

    Cheers!

    Calum

Good to hear! Any chance of an implementation of embedded YouTube videos coming soon? 😃

@MIGHTYMAN Can do it now. It's just not very good. And it links in a load of other stuff

Yeah I seem to remember eBay links also coming up as videos. Is there not a standard way of doing it? I'm sure YouTube recommends just using iframes bit you said it's dodgy.

@MIGHTYMAN That's the thing isn't it. There isn't ONE set way of streaming video. Say if you just want YouTube, I could write a plugin just for YouTube. But if you want to support everything under the sun then that simply isn't going to happen. Not by me at least. I can do it, it's just getting all of the edge cases.

I reckon that there isn't a need to take it any further than YouTube. Much like posters must first upload their pictures to sites like Imgur, I doubt anyone here would upload to a video site other than YouTube. I think you should write the plug in. 😉

@MIGHTYMAN IF that is the case then it's just a simple regex for Youtube and done. Could add in a few others too.

@CYBER-NINJA 102, but about 10 people who actually use the site lol. Still that's about what we got on the old one anyways.
