    @markus-w

    You’re probably right. The vinyl does feel thin and soft...

    I do like the idea of a black with yellow accents Dtr. A bit like a wasp...

    @SpookDog yes me too. I've seen a dtlc in black with yellow seat and it did look good. I don't think it was an original colour.

                @Calum that's the one. I like it. It was a 125lc that I saw. Is that 200 a JDM colour?

                  @markus-w If you write 'DT200R black' in google graphics it will show these images
                  alt text
                  The 200cc was in 3 colours: black, white and sky blue(most common).
                  I once saw the black version in my country in ads for sale, a few years back.

                    True, but the 1989/90 RMs were/are some of the most beautiful MX bikes ever made even today. They have that elusive Playboy centrefold/Spitfire-flying-past-the-white-cliffs-of-Dover visual quality you don't see very often and IMO you could say the same for the original TS125R whose styling was based on the 1989 RMs.

                    Unfortunately although the TS125R did everything a little better than the DTR on paper, the AETC valves were prone to dropping into the bore at high rpm and completely wrecking the engine and it never enjoyed the press and showroom success of the DTR. DTR is a better bike 99% of the time but I'd still love one just for the looks!

                    Also Suzuki eventually succumbed to the 90s cat's vomit graphics phase and the post-'91 RMs just looked awful.

                      @HOTSHOT-III Yeah, those RM pics aren't the best.

                      Not the worlds biggest fan of the RM colour scheme. I do like the pink DT's though.

                        @Calum

                        The last one is the ticket I’m thinking about. Though with a slightly oranger yellow 😜 the ‘dt200 in black’

                        @HOTSHOT-III

                        I was actually wanting a Ts 125 before I settled on an 88 Dtr 😳 I’m happy with my choice. Just wish I’d got a proper-running example rather than a messed with basket case! Oh well, choosy beggars, yada, yada! 🤪

                          Here's how it looks on SM wheels. I dont ride a lot on this bike, as I prefer off-roading, but its nice to have a garage queen like this:

                          @Challenger very nice build, may I ask which wheels these are and what size they are. I presume they also fit the dt125r swingarm and forks?
