Forum Software Update & Patching

@ninja yeah was hit and miss for a while! Luckily I always do a backup before I upgrade anything. As I rebooted and we had lost everything

Patched & Upgraded.
Noticed some real problems during the upgrade so I'm investigating. Be wary I may have to restore the database to this mornings backup if there is something catastrophically wrong. The forum is most likely going to be up & down until I get a permanent fix. I've been literally working on this all day and haven't moved from my chair, which is a rather sucky way to spend 1 of only 2 days I get off from working

Also note, again the browser will cache some things. So if you're experiencing problems, be sure to first just clear your cookies/cache and try again. Failing that use a private window and try logging in with that.
If you're still experiencing problems then maybe something more severe is broken and in which case I'll need to have a proper look into it.
Cheers,
Calum

Great stuff! New server has arrived and is all mounted into the housing etc. Big shout out to @Arite for generously donating/purchasing a brand new hard disk for the forum to live on.
Over the Christmas period I will look to setup the new forum and hopefully get it deployed over to the new hardware. Expect the forum to be offline over the next coming weeks as I will need to unplug it all and disconnect it from the Internet and reconfigure the switch etc.
With all going well, we should be on new tin for 2024

Slowly getting there. Data has been migrated over and the forum is alive and kicking on our new tin

They'll inevitably be teething issues when we do move and I'll need to do another backup-restore before we go live but the tin is booting and working. Impressions seem to be it's a lot faster than the old box
