I just picked up a dt125r 2003 model the other day that could do with a bit of TLC. The frame, swing arm, engine and mechanical parts are all great. But the rear brake is f**led and could do with replacing. It came with a Nissin brake which I believe is OEM? I don’t know but you all probably do. I’d like to know what would be the best replacement brake that’s affordable or if anyone has a spare I could purchase?

Also all the electrics are ruined. I’ve ordered a new battery and Headlight bulbs but all the wiring is old and damaged and I’m thinking about completely replacing all the wiring and electrics, the headlight is fine, I’m pretty sure the speedo and Rev counter are good, it needs indicators front and rear, I can get all the indicators and bulbs, relays, rectifiers etc but I don’t know where to get the correct wiring and connectors so any help will be appreciated

        Hello and Welcome!

Sounds like you've bought yourself a bit of a project.

I am looking to do the same myself and have come to the conclusion that DTP Connectors are the way to go.

        https://www.te.com/global-en/products/connectors/automotive-connectors/intersection/deutsch-dtp-connectors.html?tab=pgp-story

If you replace both ends it shouldn't matter that it's not OEM. These are just solid automotive electrical connectors.

Yes Nissin rear brake sounds OEM.

As for replacements, your best bet is probably just to get a rebuild kit and replace the seals etc. You could try Aliexpress for some DTR copies, but the brakes on the DTR didn't work from new, can't imagine Chinese copies being all up to scratch....
