Athena 125 Top End Kit; Autolube OK?
-
Looking at fitting one of these in the next few weeks; I have the kit so have a choice between bolting this on or getting my stock barrel rebored with a new piston.
Athena recommend disconnecting the autolube and running premix at 3% even with their 125cc top end kit. Has anyone fitted one as a direct replacement, i.e retained the autolube?
Like the 170 kit it has a chrome bore so this is possibly a factor but the KMX125 and 200 (and TZR125R/TDR125) have chrome bores and they seem OK with oil injection systems. Look forward to hearing what everyone thinks!

@hotshot-iii could always adjust the autolube slightly rich. Or add a splash of oil with the fuel alongside the autolube.
I would have thought it would be fine, just use quality oil.

Use Castrol racing, fully synthetic...
You can adjust the stroke of the pump with shims or washers. But judging by the amount of oil splurged out the tailpipe when I was on auto lube and how it is now at premixed 2% 50-1, I’d say it was at 33-1 with the auto lube as standard...

@rking7888 Without looking I should imagine you could just use the old UK bike PV end cap to do this on either the 125 or 170 Athena cylinder. Athena's fitting instructions tell you to buy a new left PV bush from Yamaha and the part number they supply is correct (for the 3MB barrel) so if that and the OE servo cable pulley housing fits, the pre servo end cap/holder assembly should as well.
