    I absolutely love this forum and for fear of sounding like I'm picking at it I haven't mentioned it but something been bugging me for a long time now, It's the red and white Yamaha logo at the top of the page and screen icon. Has anyone else noticed that it's actually the Yamaha music logo and not Yamaha motors?

      Are there any differences between the Yamaha Logo and that of Yamaha Motor?

      The biggest difference is that logo of Yamaha Corporation is colored in violet, its corporate color, while that Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd, its sister company, uses red.

        @markus-w

        Yamaha started out making pianos, hence the 3 tuning forks in the logo...

          @spookdog And is it any wonder, that Yamaha "invented" "Torque Induction" (reed valve technology), given their involvement in the music world. And the reed cage being oddly similar to the reeds in wind instruments.

            @calum yes there is a difference. The logo you have shown here is Yamaha motors. Notice the tips of the tuning forks reach the very edge of the surrounding circle⭕? The forks on the music logo stop short of the inner circle. Also see the m in the word Yamaha? The centre stroke of the letter reaches the bottom of the line but stops short in the music logo.very subtle differences but still differences.

              @calum never thought of that one but yes. The reeds are very similar.

                  @markus-w Well if it makes you feel better, I made the logo in Inkscape about 8 years ago.

                  view-source:https://dt125r.co.uk/assets/uploads/system/site-logo.svg?v=b5uv78ggeb2

                  Copy that and put in the browser. It's only Yamaha inspired, it's red because that's my favourite colour.

                  I will admit though, I didn't know Yamaha used a different logo for their motor corporation. It's a subtle difference that I never knew.

                  Now that you mention it though, it does look like it needs changing. The favicon is the same as asset too. If I get round to it, I'll swap it out for the motor logo.

                    Today I learned something too. Quite funny I play a few different instruments and have worked in a music shop so I know my way around a few wind instruments but never thought about the likeness. The way reads work in a sax are similar to Reed petals in our bikes.

                      @calum I only found out myself a couple of years ago and they are very subtle differences. Most people wouldn't even notice. I only know because I read it somewhere.
