Hi all, does anyone know the maximum bore size for a dt200r? I've just bought a dt200r and it has a 2mm oversize piston, just wondering if I'd be able to get a rebore or if I'll have to get it resleaved and if it's a case of getting it resleaved then some recommendations would be great, ideally close to Newcastle if possible.
Many thanks -

@Sid_Strummer I remember that max bore is 68mm, after that you have to grind the PV, I wouldn't do that.
Re-sleeve it to the 66mm. -

@Calum That's another chapter of 2stroke tuning,we talk about a "cough cough" a somewhat civilized power delivery
or the 2stroke mad max madness
????
@Sid_Strummer can tell us what he want's -

Well my 125 has the power valve pinned but I was thinking I would try the 200 with the power valve as it's my first big bike but I'm already having problems, I ordered a full set of plastics from bikerpartshop.com but the headlight cowl turned up as a totally different blue, it's not the sky blue it should be, it's not endurance blue and it's not deep purplish metallic blue either so now I need to find a headlight cowl, my 200 is a French import that has spent a lot of time in the sun so the plastics are all faded, anyone know where I can get the right colour headlight cowl? Or does anyone have a NOS one?
If not then does anyone have a NOS raspberry red rear mudguard? (Another set that bikerpartshop.com sell that isn't complete and the other colour i was thinking of doing my 200)
As for the barrel, I need to get the engine out, get it apart and get it checked before I make a decision but it's looking like it's going to be a resleave along with a full engine rebuild (hopefully the crank and gearbox are ok!) I didn't get to check any of it as it was a none runner and when I did get it to start it tried to run away, luckily the kill switch stopped it so it didn't cause further problems (i hope)
Sorry for the slow reply, I can't manage to get my email set up so I'm not being told about any replies -

No I never setup an email server so that's why you aren't getting emails.
Yes the aftermarket panels are renowned or not matching the OEM colours. Unfortunately you're talking about a relatively niche bike that was made over 20 years ago. Your best bet is to source a full set of aftermarket panels so at least they match and/or look for a genuine set. Be prepared to pay a hefty price though.
cmsnl is a good place to get genuine parts.

I already ordered what I thought was a full set and everything else is the right colour but the cowl was listed as blue instead of sky blue, it looked the right colour in the picture but it was taken in a shadow so was hard to tell and when it has arrived it doesn't match any yamaha colours, not sky blue, not endurance blue and not deep purpleish metallic blue so now I'm trying to sort it out with them but looking for a genuine one incase they can't get one
