      @maar70 At the top of the inlet manifold there should protrude a hole yes?

      This is what is known as the Yamaha Energy Intake System.

      There is supposed to be a bottle that sits in there. Depending on what year your bike is, will depend on the bottle that sits in there.

      I went for the old school Yamaha DTLC YEIS on my DTRE cause why not.

      But the theory is that when the Engine hits a negative air pressure spot, it will cause the bottle to resonate, due to this negative air pressure spots frequency equalling the Natural Oscillating frequency of the bottle. This will cause air to rush through the bottle into the Inlet and then into the engine 😄

      It's a clever idea...whether it works or not I do not know.

      But do put a bottle in there.

      I may have a bottle lying around I'd be willing to part with if you can't find one

              The cap off a Frijj bottle fits perfectly, (the one without the tear off strip), just secure it with a zipp tie!!! ;O)

                        The date of first registration should be on the V5. If you do not have a V5 you can look the details up here, by adding its reg and make;

                        https://www.vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/

                        You can then look for the correct part number on Fowlers webby, just select the correct year first;
