I've just been looking into this, not sure how you would only get third and fourth.
third and fifth maybe. But not sequential gears since it doesn't work like this.
I'm afraid it's going to be an engine out jobby and split cases if you really want to find out....

Just remove ur clutch first to see if it's a clutch issue,it could be a collapsed clutch BB etc

had the time today to open the gear box cover.turns out the problem is a broken return spring.
my next question is how do i get to it? -

Think you will need the whole clutch off to replace that. Just remove the gear shifter from the spline and see if you can wriggle it out first.
