What's the difference between a 1998 and a 2002 speed wise
-
I've dealt with them in fairness they are a pain in the ass took them over 2wks to deliver the bike and then i only had the bike and a receipt i then had to hound them for the dating certificate which you need before you can mot the bike even tho it stated in the listing all paperwork to register in hand however this was not the case and apparently the blole was on holiday so i had to wait for him to return. My advice would be to buy 1 already registered

@andrewj1680 was there anything wrong with the bike mechanicaly?
-
Speedo screen was cracked and the speedo drive on the wheel didnt work i had to change the front wheel before the speedo worked luckily i had a spare. It smokes a fair bit too so I'm guessing they are changing the mileage when they come in as there is no way mine has only done 7000 would make sense as if you have taken any notice all the bikes they have listed a very low miles
-
@andrewj1680 yeah they all have low miles and tbf I haven't actually purchased from them so I would listen to what your saying
-
For example then how does the the wheel wear to the point it doesnt work the wheel block for the speedo with only 6892 on the clock lol i think they are clocking them knowing that there is no history of mileage available to potential buyers there is little tell tale signs like the rubber condition on the kick start the original grips being worn all point to the bike doing alot more miles than the clocks say
-
@andrewj1680 not too accurate mine looks like it's been through 28 war zones but the rubber is still like brand new
-
2k will get you a fairly decent bike and the best bit about it is they are only going up in value
-
@andrewj1680 Meh, sometimes the speedo breaks and you are not in a hurry to fix it.
I'd say that's slightly different from intentially clocking it, but it has the same effect.
If you look at my bikes MOT, it's gone from like 5K to 200 miles. I've swapped the clocks over.
But I have no intention in selling my bike.
-
@andrewj1680 could be a wheel from another bike it's not un common I have two rear wheels one as a spare
-
Highly unlikely you would swap a wheel on a bike with that mileage you just wouldnt need to if the mileage was correct
-
@andrewj1680 Yeah, I swapped the front wheel on my DT with only 7k on the clocks. It got nicked and then bent my rim.

@cyber-ninja is this going to be a problem on a cbt licence, or it the same as having a dep pipe which you can't technically have either on cbt?
I'm not 100% sure of what the laws state about what your legally allowed to ride with a CBT, other than it must be 125cc and 11Kw. However if your a sensible rider and not put yourself at risk of getting stopped, how do the police know that your bike is not factory specced? You can always use the line of "The bike came like this when I bought it". Which may not save you entirely, but if you don't ride like a nutter then you are less likely to get pulled over. Most bikes these days have some sort of mods on them, so the 11Kw rule is not adhered too very much. How do they check and enforce these rules anyways? And switching an exhaust or CDI unit is not the same as adding a turbo!!! LOL
