Also the yz rear disc bolts straight onto the dtr hub if you decide to go that way dtr rear disc is 220mm and yz is 245mm

YZ hub on my wheels...are you kidding mate, it's an all ally wheel lmao!

Don't worry, I ain't a stranger to a little machining. After mounting Aprilia RS125 wheels, brakes and WR250 USD forks, there isn't alot I haven't done.

The amount of work done to my rear brake caliper carrier I done, I'd be made to start again 😄

I just reckon this final little tweak will just finish the bike off nicely.

Good luck mate it is a pain to do the linkages are the worst bit as for caliper ect it would be easier to get a yz hub laced to your rim then you can run the 520 pitch chain aswell

I run a 520 pitch chain anyway. You can get 520 pitch for the DT easily.

And I run RS wheels which are naturally 520 pitch, but personally, why 520 pitch? That's more weight for the final drive, best to keep that light. My brothers YZ125 only uses 428 pitch, and a lot of GP bikes only run 428. Better power 😄

I don't know off the top of my head. The Front one is clearly bigger, but the rear one could be about the same size.

If it runs the 245mm disc all you would have to do is make a spacer for the wheel which your pretty capable of doing, I was thinking about spoked dt wheels when I said about the hub lacing haha

And what year is your brothers yz as I can't for the life of me find a 428 pitch rear sproket my rs was 520 pitch but put it to 415 pitch but was forever replacing it which was fine if I was racing but for road use the 520 pitch chain is stronger

His is a weird one. I believe it's 2002-2003. Yeah I was kidding lol.

His YZ is this really weird model where Yamaha decided to use a 5 speed box etc.

Yeah, the spacers got trashed when the sprocket bearing collapsed. So that has to be made up again.
Shouldn't be too much more work to get it to fit to be fair. I only just got the Swingarm and won't be looking into it for a few months yet anyway. Lol.

                    Thanks for the input 😁

Well if you get stuck and need any measurements off the yz caliper carrier give me a shout as I'm sure the carrier I have fits your swingarm

Thanks, I will be alright. The Swingarm is off the same.model YZ my brother has. So will take measurements from that.

I think, I was very much inspired by your project. I have seen many dt's with YZ swingarms. But yours just inspired me to do it to mine. So thanks for that

Ah that's ideal then the calipers and carriers are the same from 99-04 I messed up and bought an 06 swingarm and an 02 caliper by mistake but near enough have everything to finish it now, just need to cut off my lower linkage mounts and mount my new ones then the rear is basically finished 🙂
