Did I get a bargain?

Afternoon all, I’ve been browsing these forums for a while An finally made an account, there is some real knowledgeable people around here.
First off my bike is absolutely fine but my air screw has seized in my carb so kept looking about for one cheap, but today I found someone had posted one on eBay that is brand spanking new An still in box from Yamaha! I paid 205 for it shipped, did I get a bargain or did I loose, thank you!

Are you happy with the price, is the real question.
Personally, for the money, you can get a lot better carbs than the stock one, for cheaper. A VHSA Carb would be better and you'll pick one up used for around the £60-120 quid mark.
But if you're after originality then you want the stock carb. Then there is, well how much would it have cost to have had your carb fixed. It's pretty common for these screws to seize. My advice would be to grease your new one up once you get it to ensure it never happens in the future.

@zylux Hi and welcome to the club. £205 does sound expensive, I take it that price was for a full carb and not just the air screw? But for a brand new item which is probably discontinued now, the cost is worth the peace of mind. And post some pics of your bike dude, we all love a good gander on here!!!

Thank you very much! An I’m happy with the price, I didn’t know you could get aftermarket carbs that are just as good, I just didn’t want a carb where I have to pre mix the fuel to me that’s a annoyance really, but I’ll post some pictures of her when she’s done. I’ve got an romeu exhaust to go on when it turns up also, I’m trying to find a new front light if you guys know where to go? I want oem

So on these engines, the oil is fed directly into the inlet manifold so any car you can fit into the engine will suffice.

@zylux Don't worry about it. You got a new carb. I recently bought the VHSB carb, slightly bigger than the VHSA, used for 210.

@zylux Don't feel stupid. That's totally fine. I bought one too before for 235 but I learned from it. Good thing is, my bike is fixed so still happy with it.
