Hey everyone, first post to the forum!

I am currently rebuilding my '89 DT125R, she was my daily but now been stripped down and sat in boxes for a couple of years.

Most of the bits are there but cannot for the life of me find the rear brake caliper. I don't want to have to spend £300+ on a full new assembly so i am looking for suggestions on either which other caliper will fit the bracket instead or where I can possibly get hold of a decent second hand original?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I would have thought these would be readily available on ebay!

@NosmokeNopoke Yes it will fit, the 3ET1 was an '88 model but no biggy. Yamaha had a massive parts bin back_in_the_day and used several parts for many bikes.

Here's a Pro tip use Fowlers website and click on the individual part you require and it will tell you which other bikes use that same part:

                https://www.fowlersparts.co.uk/browser/manufacturer/yamaha/bike/dt200r/year/1988

Obviously in future start with the DT125R and select your year/model etc.

Okay so even though it says the 88 dt125r uses the same as the 200 it will still fit my 89 125?

Just to be sure before I buy, heres the pics hes sent me.
                  Thanks again!

@NosmokeNopoke It looks about right, just compare it to your original caliper. If the part numbers match like Fowlers webby states then your good_to_go!!!

@NINJA unfortunately I havent got the orignal to look at and compare 🙁 but after looking on an 89 dtr rebuild thread here it looks like almost identical just that the bolts look the other way around.
What do you reckon? First two images are same as before second image is a screenshot of the thread i was reading on here.
                      Thanks again! alt text

@NosmokeNopoke Dude these are old bikes now and parts are getting less and less these days. Like I said Fowlers say there a match, so you've either gotta bite the bullet and order it or keep searching for another one - your call bro. 😉
