Good morning/afternoon/evening, whatever time you’re reading this!

My name is Jake, I’ve been riding for over two years now. I’m currently 18, living in Wales🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿.

I’ve just bought myself a 2006 DT125X for a reasonable price due to it needing a top end rebuild. It’s a replacement for my 2015 WR125x as I wanted a bit more poke than the 4 stroke engine.

My DT is in pieces scattered around my garage at the moment as I’m waiting for the piston to rebuild the engine. I have a few new bits to go on it too but I haven’t done them yet.

I’ll be using this as a platform for help, guidance and socialising. If you’re interested in what I get up to on my jollies, or updates on the bike check out my Instagram @southwalesyammy

    Kind regards,
    Jake

      Hey Jake.

Hey good upgrade/ You can't go too far wrong on the DTX.

Throw up some images on here when you get a chance.

        Hi Callum,

My stepdad told me I should look at getting a DT as he used to have them and a 2stroke would be better for me. I went for the Supermoto as I love the styling of them. I can’t wait to get out on it now😩

I tried putting some pictures up with this post but couldn’t figure out how to do it😂

If I had my time again, I would get an Aprilia MX125 as they are superior in every way. But they are getting pricier now.

Don't get me wrong, I adore my DT and wouldn't change it for the world.

@Calum The only question between owning an MX 125 or a DTX would be which one would require less regular maintenance? My DTR was great fun and if I had my time over again I would have bought a DTX over the DTR. I would say that the DTX would be more reliable over an MX and would also make for a great commuter bike too. :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_closed_eyes:

@NINJA I don’t mind reliability as much as I don’t commute much 😂 but it would still annoy me

Rotax engines are race engines, so sure maintenance is increased. But they are fine in stock trim.

                        Welcome!!

i own a dtx too, and its an amazing bike! hope you enjoy it

@Calum @NINJA both engines are very good, but since i own both engines, for me rotax its much superior in terms of fun, thats for sure. but dtx for everyday use wins easily. my aprilia always thirsty, its crazy how much petrol i spent in one month with her :face_with_tears_of_joy:

I don't count 125s as thirsty lol. I drive tuned turbo cars so a little 125 is nothing.
