Haven't posted for a few years! I had thought that the site was winding down, so nice to see it's still going strong!

@ringo67 I think there has been a few different hands on the DTR forums over the years. The last forum stagnated and never got updated/upgraded and got bombarded with spam and it had to be switched to read only mode.

I offered to help but there was not much I could do without access to the hosting platform, so I spun up a different site. And that was 7 years ago! Mental!!!

@calum 7 years eek! The thing is you have to be committed to the cause! ,and most people can't wait to get a bigger bike than a 125. I went suzuki gp 100 , Kawasaki Ar 125 , Kawasaki gpz 500s and then dropped to the kmx 200 which is a bike I absolutely loved and have had 2 and wish I had never sold (except for the second one lost that when divorced 😞)would have loved to have tried a DT 200 or a DT 230 lanzer? Have been hankering for a DTR for a few years now and if I can't manage it this year then hopefully when can draw some of my pension ( God wasn't I 18 not long ago) next year I will get one then!

@ringo67 Don't say that 😞 18 at heart right? Anyway, being young these days is rubbish, job market is tight, the housing market is a nightmare, the economy is foobar and the world is a mess.

I think you probably lived the sweet spot. There is too much rubbish with social media going on these days as well.

No more smokers being developed. I'm optimistic for the electric scene mind you. Looking forward to what that brings for us motorcyclists.

As for dedication to the 125 scene, I recently came to the conclusion that I'm not a motorcycle enthusiast, I enjoy the little project and the 125s are just easier to work on. Loads of bits, nice and light/simple and easy to shift on afterwards.

@calum I will agree with you about the sweet spot....RD 125, 250 ,350 ,500 not counting the 50 or air cooled modles as well as rgv 250, 500 plus the Dt modles......CR's....KX's the list goes on..its just the sound and smell of a two stroke preferably with a non standard pipe/s . As for electric bikes I'm coming round to these as I like some of the e-mountain bikes but at around 3 grand for a good one I can get a well sorted DTR for that. Plus I've had motorbikes since I was 18 and have never considered myself a biker but just love riding and tinkering with them. But due to my wife being ill and work have had a four year break and I'm now looking forward to getting back into them and getting a DTR is now the goal.
