Hey guys I've been rigging up an electrical system on my engine it's a dtx engine with what I believe to be a tzr stator and flywheel I have 2 a.c. wires coming out one yellow and one white ish the white one goes to the regulator. My battery is charging at 18v with the the charging wire coming from the regulator is there anything I'm missing? (it's not a dt regulator)
I have one loose wire from the reg that puts out very low voltage 1 or 2 volts, battery is new and at 12v, UPDATE I figured that spare black wire might be a signal wire of sorts so the regulator knows the battery voltage I hooked it up to the battery negative and the voltage instantly dropped to 14v and even when revved would only go to around 14.2v sound about right?

@declan Yeah that sounds spot on.

I recently had this but on a stock stator stock regulator and the battery caught fire.

Was not good as the battery sat underneath the fuel tank 😮

But sounds like you've sorted it which is good news.

@calum lol funny you say that when I turned the bike off I could hear the battery acid boiling, weird thing was the battery was cold to the touch all around,it's definitely something to watch out for no warning signs until it's too late luckily I had the multimeter hooked up the whole time so I knew it was over charging
