I have been trying to get a friend’s 2002 dt125r running properly and get it to be reliable the throttle cable fitted on the bike wasn’t right the cable going to the oil pump the inner cable was way to long so the outer cable was packed out with washers not the best solution so I ordered a throttle cable for the bike from hilevel fitted it to be faced with the same problem you can’t fit the cable wrong has anyone else had this problem

You can route the cable the wrong way through the bars headstock/chassis. You have got the right cable for the right year and model haven’t you ? -

All routed right and double checked to make sure the cable is for the right year it’s only wrong on the oil pump side it’s like the inner is about 12mm to long

There are different oil pumps on the later bikes. I think the ‘rotor’ is situated on the side ( not the top) and is much larger. You might have a cable for one of those...PS vendors who no nothing often use the ‘88-04’ on everything...

3et263011200 is the part number for 1988-96 which is what I suspect you have. The oil pumps changed in 96.
Genuine Yamaha parts supplier, even if you only use it to acquire the part number to put into eBay.
