Airbox holder guide foam has seen better days
-
Hello
Went to do a service on my DT125RE and when going to replace air filter the Airbox holder guide foam material is all falling apart

https://ibb.co/84PwwMgf
https://ibb.co/yFJsF8VsHaving a look online fowlers want £55!
Part number 3BN-14459-00
Has anyone ran without the foam on that part and just relied on the actual air box filter?
Or Should I just remove any loose bits and keep using it or is it really worth replacing ?
Many thanks -

@DTGREENLANER Get some 5mm air filter foam off eBay, clean the holder thoroughly and glue it on using Seal-All, a petrol and oil resistant glue. This is very important, if you run the bike without this the engine will suck dirt. It's also worth applying a dribble of foam filter oil right around it before sliding it back into the airbox with a fresh filter installed.
