@CYBER-NINJA They squeeze the tyre beads against the rim. The idea being that it prevents the tyre from slipping on the rim from hard acceleration. If the tyre slips, it will likely take the inner tube with it and therefore rip the valve out of place, leaving you with a very flat tyre! I don't think I have seen a motocross bike without them installed. Although you only really need one on the rear wheel, I opted to stick one on the front as well for things like stoppies. Some people go as far as to have more than one on the rear, but I didn't feel it was really necessary. It's one of those things that is worth having, JUST IN CASE! 😁

@Calum Yeah. I don't find that it's an issue when I'm on the PC. On my phone however, it comes up with a warning every time. Must be a bit off putting for most people.

Interestingly, whilst the forum hasn't been particularly busy, it has only increased on getting hits.

@Calum As much as I would love to keep it clean and scratch free in the garage, there's no way I could warrant the purchase without getting a good amount of use from it! 👍

@Mightyman How's the E-bike now that you have had a few month's to get use to her and break her in??? 😉 😉 LOL

How often do you use her and do you feel she was worth the money?

What experience's could you share with us all, compared to a regular bike?

It was delivered back to me from KTM UK yesterday with a temporary loan battery as my one has broken! Under warranty though so I should be getting a brand new one in a few weeks/months. The only issue is they aren't allowed to send the battery on its own so they reckon my bike will have to be shipped to Austria.. 😦

My advice with the bike would be, if you own land nearby to anyone else, you'll avoid all noise complaints/agro if you use one of these, so it's perfect in that sense. Apart from that as it only lasts 20 odd miles on the road, it's hard to justify the price unless you want one for commuting. I wouldn't have wanted to pay anymore than 4.5k for it looking back.

Definitely the bike of the future but battery tech is not there yet imo..

@Mightyman DAMN - Shipping it back and forth to Austria that's a serious expense for them to pay out under the warranty. And a 20 mile run time is pretty poor really, are the batteries not lithium ion then? Have you ever ridden her in the wet on the road, if so what was she like???

@CYBER-NINJA I doubt they will send the bike on its own. It would go to a central service where a whole load would be sent.

That's not on for the battery to only last two years though.

I don't really see these as a viable future option. The recharge element is the issue here. You need to be able to stop off at a station and just be as good as new again.
