Does anyone know what year plastics fit on what frames?

I have '02 DTR. I would like to fit plastics from the RE models that started around '04.

I assume they won't fit, but I thought I'd ask...

@Uber_Beluga They are not compatible for a straight swap, but you could switch to the newer tank so that the RE fairings will fit on there. As for the rest I'm not 100% sure if the frames are identical for the side panels to fit? You could use the OG side panels and cut them down a bit for a more MX look. However the front & rear mudguards should fit with minor mods etc.

        Thanks for the advice.

I really like the rear light on the RE models. Once the bike is running I'll try get one off Ebay and... MAKE.. it fit.

Also for me it wouldn't be so much of a switch as I got the bike without any original bodywork, it's a bit of an ugly duckling.

@Uber_Beluga You would have to swap the tank, seat, side panels and rear mudguard to make it all fit. If all the bolt holes line up with the frame then you're golden, if not then it's a case of making new or modding the fixing points to make it all work. Not impossible but it may be tricky in places???

As @CYBER-NINJA said, they are compatible to an extent, you do need the seat tank.

From a collectors point of view, the bike would be worth more as an R.

If you like the rear tail light then maybe I suggest using something like the Acerbis tail light. That would tidy the rear end up nicely. You could mount it to a HPires rear fender.
