Recommended reeds?
-
@declan No? I was just saying I am pretty sure it's the cage you want not the reeds as I think the stock ang or carbonreeds are about as good as you can get. So don't waste your money.
-
@Calum I'm kidding, I'm new to 2 stroke so I thought v force also did reeds but I've salvaged mine if flipped them and Gonma repair the inlet rubber and need to clean the carb after that hopefully she goes good
-
@Calum so the reed flip gave me tones more compression carb cleaned intake boot repaired but I've still got the little bog/ stutter from idle would you say the idle jet needs increasing?

@declan Oh yeah that sounds like it's running lean.
You could just try a lower needle setting on the carb. See if that cleans it up slightly.

@finnerz89 thanks bud, @Calum do you think the hesitation could be my header leak? And is it normal to have smoke coming from the powervalve mechanism

Smoke shouldn't be coming from the Powervalve area.
You need to sort these little niggles out in order for us to really identify the problem.
It may be a combination of a lot of things that are causing these issues.
Sort the powervalve out and we can move on from there.

@Calum right so the right side is not leaking but the left is as the video shows mixture too rich?

@declan Not really. Two strokes are not made anymore for this reason, they're oily.
To me it looks like the oring needs replacing.
The exhaust should be dripping from the expansion chamber usually.
I'm sure someone will disagree, but when it comes to oil, I'd rather run a little more than a little less.
That post the other day may interest you as it is possible that the little bush can wear out causing excessive play in the powevalve housing.
It could be this as well.
