Ah... Yeah this is making more sense now.
Once upon a time I had two VHSA's and I made one "Good" one from both. One was confirmed from a 4DL and the other "Blue Printed", although thinking back now that's just a con.
As it turns out, the two were not equal and swapping over jets wasn't enough. I seemed to have ended up with the Rotax Version of the carb and not the TZR one that I actually wanted.

There are subtle differences between the two which is probably why jetting one from the other isn't working as well I'd hoped for me.

After finally pulling my finger out, you seriously don't want to know how long I've been riding it over fueling lol, I decided to spend the afternoon rejetting lol. Feels like a different bike.
To be fair, I had only just built the engine and was just bedding it in, so I didn't want to be thrashing the balls off of it to test the jetting. But now it's run in, I was finding that off idle was fine, but 4-6k was a mess and then 10K is the limit lol.

wrote on 27 May 2022, 22:05 last edited by@Calum always amazes me how much difference a carb can make to a bike, I always remember my old dt50r when I upgraded the exhaust from standard to performance how untuned the carb was to the exhaust, turned a nippy machine into an sluggish horrible mess
