What's the difference between a 1998 and a 2002 speed wise

Hmm I remember my friends older dtr had a full dep system, but it was only faster top end by around 5-10mph, mine did around 75mph. I can't wait to get one again

@r11ys-d So you have the reed switch which will limit top end.

To be honest, the 2002 one my brother had went off the clocks.

My DTRE used to go off the clocks, but not sure these days. Guess I got heavier.

There doesn't seem to be many about that catch my eye, I might have to get one with a standard exhaust system and buy the dep separately, I've got my cbt on the 19th so want to have one before then if I can, but want the right bike for around 2k

A few people on here have been importing them from overseas as they seem to be in far better condition.

I've dealt with them in fairness they are a pain in the ass took them over 2wks to deliver the bike and then i only had the bike and a receipt i then had to hound them for the dating certificate which you need before you can mot the bike even tho it stated in the listing all paperwork to register in hand however this was not the case and apparently the blole was on holiday so i had to wait for him to return. My advice would be to buy 1 already registered

Speedo screen was cracked and the speedo drive on the wheel didnt work i had to change the front wheel before the speedo worked luckily i had a spare. It smokes a fair bit too so I'm guessing they are changing the mileage when they come in as there is no way mine has only done 7000 would make sense as if you have taken any notice all the bikes they have listed a very low miles

For example then how does the the wheel wear to the point it doesnt work the wheel block for the speedo with only 6892 on the clock lol i think they are clocking them knowing that there is no history of mileage available to potential buyers there is little tell tale signs like the rubber condition on the kick start the original grips being worn all point to the bike doing alot more miles than the clocks say

@andrewj1680 not too accurate mine looks like it's been through 28 war zones but the rubber is still like brand new

@declan some of them do come with history but I don't know how you can get a bike that's around 20yrs old with essentially 2 years mileage
