Is it possible to replace a copper washer for sealing, e.g. On the coolant drain bolt with a stainless steel washer? Is the stainless steel soft enough?

Stainless starts to "eat" other materials, I wouldn't use stainless, and I think it's too hard. Use copper.

Yeah it's copper for a reason.

            Use a copper washer bud.
