        @jonne123 How is crazy?

        The DTR uses an engine designed in the 80s and wasn't changed in its entire lifetime.

        The WRX is a modern four stroke engine and you're comparing it against something made 30+ years ago.

        The two stroke engine hasn't been developed massively for a long time. Four strokes have come on leaps and bounds.

            @jonne123 To get 25hp out of the stock DTR motor? I wouldn't even know. Port the barrel, increase the compression ratio, correct the squish band. Widen the exhaust port. Use an aftermarket ignition system. Use an underslung exhaust. bigger carb, uprate the air intake. Lighten the flywheel.

                @jonne123 Not really, that sort of power at the wheel is good. And is still faster than the WRX. The WRX will be making that power for a very short time at the upper range, where as the DTR produces max power at 7K and revs to 12k.

                The two stroke engine produces more power end of. Then it's just a case of how you tune it as to where that power is made.

                My RS easily trumps my DT for power. But you really have to be in the powerband to use it. The DTR I can ride at low RPMs happily.

                    That's a motorcross bike! You can't compare a full blown motorcross bike designed to last 40hrs of use to a bike that is designed to last 4000hrs!

                        Speed and power are not the same. Throw the DTR off a cliff and the top speed is going to be quite high.

                                @jonne123 What! 120MPH out of a 125? A GP bike maybe, but not a road going bike.

                                    @jonne123 170KMH is absolutely pushing it.

                                    My brother has a mito and we were going down some private road and he said the speedo read 120MPH. I said, funny that mine read 90 🤣

                                    But his was standard with an exhaust and 28mm carb.

                                    My RS will touch that sort of speed but it has every mod conceivable on it. But you could touch that speed with a light rider.

                                        I don't know, why don't you Google it.

                                        The TZR wasn't anything special, so I'd imagine about the same.

                                        If you absolutely must have the most demanding HP bikes then go for the Italian bikes. Aprilia/Cagiva or look for the absurdly rare and Overpriced Japanese bikes.

                                        The TZR RR SP or the Honda NSR RR.
