oilpump hose
-
Hello folks, new dt-guy here

The pre-owner disconnected the oilpump, I want to re enable it.
My question is regarding the hoses, I want to install clear tubes, how do I disconnect them on the gold-colored parts, just pull? or on the silver ones? do I have to pull out or turn the silver "plugs" so they have a thread? I don't want to break anything

I always slip the brass/gold clip up out of the way first, then pull the pipe off. It might need a little help levering off with a small flat screwdriver...
I would only bother replacing the small diameter pipe that goes between pump and inlet manifold with clear. Itβs only that bit that gives peace of mind from being clear...Bear in mind that people usually pre-mix because they have had problems (real or imagined) with the auto-lube. So expect the worst π§ ...

Thank you, also for the further food for thought.
has helped
the previous owner said he disconnected it to be on the safe side, no information about problems with it.
Isnt it better to drive with a pump in some situations? must now wait for new hoses to be delivered..
what about a flow reader fe. coupled with the cockpit oil lamp if no flow, if that makes sense?
