Cheers bud, itโs not a righteous original bike, in fact itโs a mongrel, but that suits me better. I can put my mark on it without feeling like Iโm violating it

Honestly, it's getting rare to find unmolested examples these days. I maintain that if mine wasn't stolen and trashed that it would still be standard today.
My RS was just a frame from Germany. Probably involved some smash up over there that wrote it off. I built it from spare parts all over the net. So it being totally non-original is a moot point. The thing should have been placed into the bin!

@Calum
I love rescuing underdogs! I call my bike โlil bitchโ cause itโs such a mongrel!!...
PS has the site been down?... -
@SpookDog Site wasn't down, but the IP address changed so I had to find out what it was and update the DNS record. But if you knew the IP you could still access it.

Iโm not sure how I managed to wander back on tonight? Itโs been hanging the last few days, for me...Does the wheelbase look longer with the YZ gumpf? Or is it just me? I havenโt had a chance to measure anything yet, itโs getting dark real sudden and early now. Even taking into account the clocks going back...
The bike passed its MoT! I have insurance! I even have glasses ready next Saturday!! Just got to book my CBT
Iโm potentially a happy bunny! ๐คช ...

@SpookDog Yeah I guess it does look longer.
Happy days bud!
Yeah your browser probably cached the DNS which needed time to change. It's a faff, hasn't changed for years. So it's not too much downtime.

If anyone has time and a tape measure, can you please measure the wheel base on a Dtr? From spindle to spindle. I donโt have my bike with me ATM and thereโs nothing in the manual. Cheers peeps!...

@SpookDog I'm assuming you live in England? Just a thought, do you have a friend or relative in Wales you can use their address and do your CBT in Wales? Also that's a lovely looking bike you have and my favourite colour.

@ The World in general
Man! I so want to go for a ride, rain or not. 25 years is a long time to be off the road
. I am so fucking close to legal that it hurts. I just know that if I do and get pulled, Iโll be shafted
...
Lights (& Looser plates) are on, but not allowed to roam...
-
I only got this in May, but itโs MoT time tomorrow!
Eye exam in the afternoon so I can read a number plate @21 metres. CBT in a week with luck...
Am insured, so only tax needed as well...
Itโs been 25 years since I was last legal on a bike, so Iโm pretty excited...

Iโm a fan! If I where you Iโd almost be tempted to keep the current DT you have relatively stock and just enjoy it as it is as itโs a clean bike and then build the other frame up.
Although I know how things go and realistically that just never happens
I see now as well we do actually have near enough the same front ends! I think yours are off a WR or slighter later year though?
Is that a 91โ swingarm too?. Very similar to the 200WRโs just cleaner (no tabs for chain guard etc) + the welds are also much better.
Iโm not mistake but Iโm pretty sure you can run most swingarms 88/89-91 relatively easilyLovely bike though and looking forward to seeing more of whatโs happening, must say Iโm jealous of you having such luxuries as a spare frame and all that room to work
On the contrary I do however get to ride less then legal places borderline legally which is why i was going to say as itโs still essentially an off-road bike go and take it off road if ya can.
I admit to having more then a couple rides around my neighbourhood before my bike was legal but most of the time I just quietly popped off Into the fields, a lot of the time if you mind your own business being just an older guy with an old bike people will know youโre harmless.
Odds on youโll even find someone whoโs interested in the bike too!
