Dripping oil from the silencer

@skunkno1 pretty normal for a two stroke I don't know why you are worried.
But yeah could be a whole host of things. Simplest is that the grade of oil you are using is too high. It says on the bottle what ratio to mix the oil to.

Hi , does anyone else have the problem of oil dripping from the silencer ? Need some help please ,
Everything Is as it should be , oil pump set correct , engine all good , carb is standard except a 220 main jet ,
After market exhaust on ,

@calum I’m not to worried about it , just wouldn’t mind a clean silencer for a change , and want to know why it’s doing it ,
I’m using castrol oil,@skunkno1 It's obviously getting too much oil. Saying "I'm using castrol oil" isn't very helpful.
What is the specific oil you are using?

- Castrol POWER1 XR 77
- Castrol POWER1 A747
- Castrol.Garden Two Stroke 'Oneshot' Oil

The list goes on and on.
Yes, two strokes are oily. You can fine tune the pump but you need to be specific about the oil you are providing it and the ratios you're mixing into it.
My recommendation would be, if you're not sure, then just leave it alone.

@skunkno1 It's obviously getting too much oil. Saying "I'm using castrol oil" isn't very helpful.

@calum it’s power 1 racing castrol , what you saying then back the oil pump off slitley ?
@skunkno1 I should have asked, are you racing this engine? If not then why are you using the "Racing" oils. Racing an engine is completely different to commuting an engine. Since it's going to spend the majority of the time in wide open throttle. Also most race bikes are pre-mix, although the data sheet says it's good for autolube systems.
I'd say, you're using too high grade an oil for the application. Either, back off the oil pump slightly (which unless you know what you're doing don't) or use a more suitable oil which is predominantly used in the mid RPM range.
Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. As it sounds to me like you don't fully quite understand the intricacies of the systems to go messing with the oil pump/ratios.
Easiest solution would be to use a lower grade oil more suited to your application.

@skunkno1 I should have asked, are you racing this engine? If not then why are you using the "Racing" oils. Racing an engine is completely different to commuting an engine. And yes just commuting really with the bike so not WOT all the time ,
What oil would you suggest I use ? Something with a lower flash point ?
What about that castrol clean burn semi synthetic oil?
Currently using fully synthetic
