    Crank came not long ago and test fitted without the engine innards and the play is exactly the same there must be some sort of defect with my main bearings despite them being genuine and only 4 minutes old I can't feel any play in the bearings with the crank out though it's proving to be a tad frustrating

    Removed the crank seal so I can see exactly where the play is coming from its the the crank surface where it presses into the race (as suspected) but the crank fits very tightly into the race has to be pressed in its almost like the race is tapered and I've got it reversed, main bearings aren't tapered at the race are they?

      @declan

      This is a bit confusing, didn’t you say the bearing slipped on in your other thread?

        @spookdog yes but on the otherside it turns out both cranks are worn out but in very specific ways it's very annoying but I'll just get a new one at some point

            @markus-w I'm sure it's possible but I'm just not gonna go to the hassle I think either a new crank or just forget about it gambling on used cranks just isn't ideal I gave it a try atleast, gonna get my other bikes built and sorted then I'll circle back round and finish the dt off maybe winter

              @declan When you said new, I thought you meant new new. You can get brand new cranks for these bikes.
